What Is MTTF?

Mean Time To Fail­ure, or MTTF, is a key indi­ca­tor for the health of a plant main­te­nance sys­tem. MTTF tells us the aver­age length of time fail­ure, or lifes­pan, of a non-repairable unit or com­po­nent. Track­ing and improv­ing MTTF is a cen­tral part of TPM and build­ing a strong Planned Main­te­nance function.
