What are the prerequisites for the Gemba Academy Master Black Belt Certification? 

As you may have gath­ered from its name, the Mas­ter Black Belt pro­gram isn’t an intro­duc­to­ry course. There are two prerequisites:

  • You must have earned your Black Belt Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion from a Gem­ba Acad­e­my-approved institution.

  • You’ll need to have at least five years of expe­ri­ence with con­tin­u­ous improve­ment methodologies.

How long is the training course? 

The Mas­ter Black Belt Course is self-paced, though in most cas­es it takes rough­ly 10 – 12 months to com­plete the train­ing. Still, every­one is dif­fer­ent, and the time it takes to ful­ly com­pre­hend each les­son depends on the individual.

How do I prepare for the exam? 

Our videos are designed to max­i­mize learn­ing effi­cien­cy by pre­sent­ing one idea at a time in 5 – 15 minute seg­ments. MBB can­di­dates gain full access to our on-demand con­tent library, which fea­tures all 1500+ Lean and Six Sig­ma lessons.

Course con­tent is also accom­pa­nied by short quizzes that rein­force learn­ing, Excel tem­plates, and oth­er mate­ri­als designed specif­i­cal­ly to help you pre­pare for the exam.

Do I have to work for a company to complete the Master Black Belt training? 

Can­di­dates who meet the pre­req­ui­sites may apply for enroll­ment, regard­less of whether they are cur­rent­ly employed, self-employed, between roles, or pur­su­ing new opportunities.
