Feedback from our customers

DMAIC Capstone Experience

I like the simulation a lot. It is easy to follow and helps you understand the step-by-step process of DMAIC. I prefer this new format.

It was perfect timing; it helped guide my next steps in the Analyze phase of my project.

The walkthrough of the Black Belt Capstone is highly effective because it helps candidates translate theoretical learning into practical application. I love it!

FAQ

Want to learn more about the Gemba Academy Black Belt certification program? Our frequently asked questions are here for you.

Am I a good candidate for a Black Belt certification?

A good Black Belt candidate has a strong interest in continuous improvement methodologies, including statistical analysis, and is never satisfied with the status quo. This person also aspires to lead others through continuous improvement projects.

How long is the training course?

We’ve found that most candidates complete the program in 8 – 10 months. That said, Gemba Academy’s Black Belt Certification program is self-guided, allowing learners to complete the course in their own time. Learners have access to the course content for a full calendar year from the time of purchase, giving them plenty of time to take in the course material and prepare for an exam.

Who is this program for?

Though Lean is traditionally associated with manufacturing, all Gemba Academy training programs are industry agnostic. Our video lessons can be adapted to fit any workplace environment, and are designed to help companies of all sizes and across industries drive and sustain continuous improvement efforts.

How do I prepare for the exam?

What happens if I’m not satisfied with my exam score?

You can review the incorrectly answered exam questions with your coach, repeat the video lessons on the respective topics and then repeat the exam. There is no charge for repeating the exam.

Will I need to complete a project?

Yes, you will complete both a simulated DMAIC project and a real-world DMAIC project for your organization with the support of your Gemba Academy coach.

My employer is paying for me to get my certification. How will my sponsor/champion be involved with my certification?
