Higher education represents an enormous opportunity for the application of Lean management, yet the focus thus far has been almost entirely on administrative processes. Bob Emiliani will present how Lean principles and practices apply to academic processes to improve individual courses, as well as how to use kaizen to improve entire degree programs. He will provide highlights of his own pioneering Lean experiences in higher education, including faculty and staff reaction, student feedback, and lessons learned. It will also include tips for engaging university employees in efforts to improve academic processes in response to the major changes that are happening today.

“The fact the courses are delivered into small, bite-size modules, makes learning easier and allows the students to go back to a particular module for refresher training. This reinforces particular learning points for the student and makes learning much more effective. This results in a more engaged and active participant.”

- Jeff Miller, Global Best Practices Group Chair, Toyota Financial Services

“Thanks for the outstanding videos. These are very informative and are an excellent supplement to our internal practices. These keep us excited about the topics covered since they are much more energetic than typical training videos. Finally, training videos that are worth the cost!”
